MyTour
MyTour allows you to create and present custom made tours complete with multiple tour maps, overhead images and first person images, text, audio, and pop up overlays of various shapes and sizes. For example, it could be used to create a comprehensive tour of a museum allowing a user to visit various sites of the museum, notice important pieces in the museum, and follow a text/audio tour of the museum.
Tours are edited using MyTourEditor and presented using MyTourPresenter. They are loaded and saved in a convenient xml format and they can be saved along with their image and audio files like a web page (with all image/audio files relative to the home xml file) so they can be ported across different computers. MyTour is java based and is compatible with Java 1.5+.
MyTour is being used at this moment in our research as both an informative tool to display notable locations to test subjects, and a navigation aid in our wearable computing projects. To support the Go Project, MyTour provides a way for users with acquired cognitive impairments to rehearse day time trips in the comfort of their own home. In the future we envision MyTour as something that also can be integrated into other research projects such as our planned sensor-assisted living facility, and dynamic route creation for navigation assistance around Eugene.
